Some of my best moments of inspiration come to me while I am running on the track at the gym, driving my car, or cooking a meal. As I was running the other day, the 80's song "You Spin Me Round (Like a Record)" by Dead or Alive played overhead. My legs kept their stride with the music and my thoughts drifted away to "Dead or Alive". Dead or alive is a choice. There are people out in the world who may feel that they have hit a dead end, feel dead inside, and are not consciously living the lives they could be. Then you have the people who feel alive inside and you love to be around them. What is the biggest difference? The answer is simple. They take action. Yes, that is it. Their actions include: making the choice to be happy, making the choice to go after their dreams, and making the choice to make a difference. Action is a choice.
There are times when I do not feel like going to the gym or ideas do not seem to be flowing when I want to write, however, I have learned that after I have hit the third lap on the track I can run and run. My blood is flowing and I feel great. Why wouldn't I want to feel this good all the time? Same goes for my writing. Even if I sit in front of a blank piece of paper and just start writing whatever comes to my mind, eventually the ideas flow onto the paper. We all need to "step into it". Once you get started, your mindset is transformed into an unstoppable force and ideas come quickly and easily. Make sure you have some paper or index cards nearby to capture these moments. You need to them while they are fresh or you will lose them.
Your mind and body were meant to be in motion. What gets your blood flowing? Where do you get your best ideas? Is there a song out there that gets you pumped up and ready to take action? What choice will you make today?
Enjoy..."You Spin Me Round" Hit it ...Boy hairstyles have changed.

Adding Sunshine to Blue Monday
The radio stations in Edmonton have been broadcasting that today is "Blue Monday". The third Monday of January is deemed to be the most depressing day of the year. I believe it works out to be January 24. Apparently, psychologist Cliff Arnall came up with a formula:
Weather plus (+) Debt minus (-) Salary
Times (x) time since Christmas to time to fail in fulfilling New Year's Resolutions
Divide (/) by Motivation to Take Action
This is also the time of year in which many people suffer from seasonal affective disorder (SAD). Symptoms of seasonal affective disorder may include irritability, moodiness, weight gain, decreased energy, increase in anxiety and despair, fatigue, and avoidance of social situations. For some people, this disorder can be debilitating and for the rest referred to as the "winter blues". Do not despair. There are many things you can to add some sunshine to your world on "Blue Monday".
Change Your Environment. You cannot change the weather but you can change your environment. Apply a new coat of paint to your office walls, hang new pictures, add a plant, or move the furniture around. Make your environment more inviting. Start spring cleaning early. Put a spring picture on your computer as a screen saver.
Chunk Down Your Debts. Create a debt reduction plan. Call your credit card company and ask for a reduction on your interest rate. The same process may be used with your internet, telephone, and television providers when reducing some of your charges. I do not guarantee these solutions for you but I know from personal experience they do work. Use what you have in your pantry for food staples, plan your meals, buy groceries with a list, and cook your own style of gourmet meal...pull out the fancy china for you. Why? You are worth it.
Increase Your Salary. Get a second job or spend less. Use your skills and talents to help you generate income doing things like typing/proofreading, walking a dog, babysitting, even snow shovelling (if you have snow).
Make Your Resolutions Stick. Write down your goals. Create action steps to achieve them. Make sure they are realistic. Ask for help or delegate to get things done. Resolutions stick when you are focussed. Let others know what you want to achieve so they can remind you of your commitment to yourself. Perhaps you can remind them of theirs.
Motivation. Surround yourself with like minded individuals. If weight loss is your goal, join a group who wants to lose weight or hire a personal trainer to help you with your goal. Keep a diary of your food intake and activity. Track your progress.Celebrate your milestones. Create your own exercise playlist of songs which pump you up and make you feel energized and alive.
Take action. Most importantly, take action steps toward your goals. Keep the momentum going. You want sustainability not an overnight set up and take down. Your determination and perserverance with carry you through any obstacles in your way. Many experts say it takes 21 days to break or make a new habit, I challenge you to go for 30 days instead and create a fire in your belly to succeed and persist because you really want what you are focus on.
Finally, add sunshine to your life with laughter and surrounding yourself with family and friends. Go for a walk. Go to an art gallery or a movie. Make a snow angel or have a snowball fight. Sing in the shower. Recite your dreams aloud. Tell a joke. Smile with your eyes.
For this is one day, which will not repeat itself, so live it up!
"Nothing is worth more than this day." ~Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Leave Your Footprint in the Sand
When your leave a footprint, you leave a reminder, an imprint to others that you were there. People buy from and surround themselves with people they know, like, and trust. How can they get to know you if you do not leave your footprint in their mind or even their heart?
People want to get to know you, so BE REAL - BE YOURSELF. They want the full meal deal - not an imposter. They were attracted to your qualities and character. When you try to be someone you are not, you rob the world of the person you are. We often think that if I just had this car or if I have more money, they would think more of me. Sadly, this is often not the case. What matters most is how you feel about you - on the inside. You may have heard the saying "Confidence is Sexy!" Confidence attracts people to you; and, confidence is empowering. People want to be around people who are energetic and have enthusiasm for life. They want to expereince what you have to offer.
"Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else." ~Judy Garland
SHARE A PIECE OF YOURSELF. Let people sample who you are. Build relationships with others. Give the people you meet value - a referral, tip, technique, or an idea that might be benefit them. You will receive more than you may expect in return. Take time to teach others, as you have had many teachers that helped you get where you are today. List the ways you can help others and start doing some of them toda
FOLLOW-UP WITH THE PEOPLE YOU MEET. You do not want the winds of time to bring a tide to the shore to wash away your footprint. Follow-up with the people you meet so you are on top of their mind and your footprint etched in the sand.

Do You Remember to Share?
From the time we were little, we were taught to share. Why do we not share our hopes and dreams with those closest to us? Are you afraid that they will laugh or talk you out of it? Focus on your vision. It belongs to you. If you believe you can achieve it, it does not matter what others say, you will do it. With the individuals I talk to, it could be further from the truth. When others are aware of your goals, they are better able to support and encourage you and you are better able to support and encourage them as well. They may recommend people that you need to connect with to reach your goals. Tell them what your needs are. Remember that each person knows at least 250 people and those 250 people know another 250 people. Share your dreams and widen your circle of influence.
Find an accountability partner or friend to remind you why you chose your goals in the first place and what the end result will look and feel like when times get weak. It is during those times that you need to look fear in the face and remind yourself you can achieve so many things if you believe in yourself, your talents, and your abilities.
Many people talk but few take action. What are you going to do?
Share your comments on how you build your circle of influence and how you share your goals with others.
